Packing

Well we picked up the 26 foot long truck in the middle of a snow storm. Fun wow...

We now have it 2/3 full and we're not sure everything is going to fit. Oh Boy!

Adventures of moving

So Sunday, I moved the truck in front of the drive shed to take off the trailer. Once removed I jumped back in the truck and turned the key, click, nothing! Tried again, click, still nothing. Damn!

 Hoping it was the battery; I put on the charger and waited a couple of hours. Tried again, click, still nothing. Great! Truck is dead four days before we move. We had the truck towed to the mechanic this morning.

 But thinking about it, it’s better it died here than somewhere outside of Montreal!

Today, I took the remaining stuff to the other auctioneer. This guy is not picky at all, thankfully, so now everything going is gone.

Truck  Mechanic called, it was the starter and the truck is now fixed! Yay?

 

Auction?

Well today I borrowed my neighbour Ken's pickup truck to haul the stock trailer we also borrowed from him, to the auction house. The pickup has over 500,000 km on it and its diesel. With the peddle to the metal I couldn't get it to move faster than 70 km/hr pulling the trailer. What a scary ride. I only arrived at the auction house 10 minutes before Lesley, even though I left a 1/2 hour before.

The auctioneer was tough on our stuff. He rejected a bunch of the stuff as unsaleable. Who would have thought an auctioneer would be picky?

Now, I am faced with taking the rejected stuff to another auctioneer on Monday. This is definitely cutting it close for the move.

Oh well, lets just hope the new auctioneer doesn't reject everything too.
